FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2018 - 4TH ANNUAL VETERANS DAY ARTSCRAWL
8:00 am - Meet at Rhinebeck High School parking circle to board bus.
9:00 am - 11:00am - Arrive at the Woodstock School of Art for hands-on instruction in drawing or watercolors and a tour of the current exhibition
11:00 am - 11:15 am - Transportation to the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Kleinert/James Center for the Arts
11:15 - 12:30 - Artist’s talk and tour of the exhibition: Osi Audu DIALOGUES WITH AFRICAN ART
A solo show examining issues of identity rooted in the artist’s cultural experiences growing up in Nigeria, as well as broader metaphysical, scientific, and social concepts of the self. Audu’s paintings are influenced by the abstract geometric possibilities in traditional African sculpture, such as the inverted trapezoidal shape of the Yoruba Shango axe, the Benin Head of the Queen Mother, and the Cross River Head with a spiral hairstyle.
12:30 - 1:15 - Lunch. Please pack a bagged lunch.
1:15 - 2:30 - Tour of exhibits and hands-on projects at the WAAM, the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum
2:40 - 3:20 - Tour of The Collective gallery, just down the street
3:20 - 3:40 - Travel to artist’s studio
3:40 - 4:30 - Tour artist’s studio
4:30 - 5:00 - Transportation back to RHS
5:00 pm – Pick up at Rhinebeck H.S. lot
